You are Nolan—a broke, orphaned college student with absolutely no one to lean on and drowning in debt. Just when you think you've hit rock bottom, a mysterious email lands in your inbox from an anonymous sender in the middle of the night. There is no name, no context, and no explanation; only the promise of a massive payout and a dark job offer:
“Watch the tapes, spot the anomalies, and redact them completely. Just do your job and don't ask questions.”
👁️ AN ANOMALY & CENSORSHIP SIMULATION: THE STORY
REDACT.vhs seamlessly blends classic walking simulator mechanics with found-footage aesthetics and anomaly-detection gameplay. Playing as Nolan, your main objective is to look through the footage, spot the distortions, find the untimely environmental shifts, and use your camera's viewfinder to redact (censor) the entities that shouldn't be there.
As you sink deeper into the tapes, the thin line between Nolan's actual room and the eerie locations on the screen begins to dissolve. Desolate wastelands, completely empty school hallways, and pitch-black parks lit only by flashing police sirens... With every single tape you finish, reality shatters a bit more.

I really enjoyed all your games. This is the coolest one out of the three, and the second game you made was the most creative story-wise, and the clown was my favorite; it was a little silly. Epic games! Love them all!

this was a really good game. I enjoyed the vhs idea and the storyline. Accidentally ran off the map in the woods, but otherwise was amazing

It was an interesting story experience, god was bright enough to blind me every loading screen, but that is its power.
Erasing segments were cool but Elina's segment had the tinnitus effect way too strong that it hurt my ears. Thanks for making this.

Honestly, this game surprised me a lot with its gameplay, atmosphere, and especially its story. I just thought the subtitles were a little too fast to follow, but other than that it was an extremely enjoyable experience and made for a great video. This game is honestly quite underrated so far!
Really solid experience. Amazing well put-together story with some mystery at first than it ramps up and we figure out more as we watch the tapes. I honestly didn't expect such a masterpiece when downloading this. The graphics are also well made and the atmosphere is top notch. Overall, solid piece of work! Made a video on it.

It’s a little hard to see, but if you turn down the shadow quality and look at a certain angle near the doors you’ll see what looks like floating keyholes for the doors while the doors themselves have nothing on them. It also isn’t possible to open them with the key because the use button never pops up.
